Life has been good!

​

I've been very fortunate to have worked for some great companies and some fantastic people. They have provided me a wealth of positive experiences and some not so positive. I have learned from them all. That combination of life time experiences and the happiness it has brought me in family, business and friendships are not replaceable, and have led me to this point.

​

I have been one of those 30% that has been engaged my entire career, and I have benefited from the work of the many others in that category as well. At the same time, I have worked with, talked to, and observed hundreds of the 70% that are not engaged. I have also hired hundreds of both.

​

My take away – employee engagement is my passion! As noted above, I know first hand the impact it can have on business performance, and the lives of the people we touch in a positive way, when as leaders we create a trusting environment of purpose that encourages engagement. Engagement is a journey, it’s not a project or group of projects to be completed, although they all contribute to what appears to be an allusive pursuit of improved employee engagement levels.

​

It has been a wide array of opportunities and challenges, education, research and interviews that have led me to want to make a difference for other leaders and the people they lead.

​

When I am not working you will find me enjoying family, golfing, running, or, expressing the creativity I have become known for in home design or a piece of art.

​

Talent acquisition takes hard work and perseverance. That's the reason I love it. I am able to harness what I have learned from being a 4 time Ironman, and training with two of the best talent acquisition mentors in the business.​

​

That passion of fulfilling what I feel is my purpose, along with my caring for people, is the inspiration for my career in talent acquisition. Not to mention, I've watched my dad, Jan, hire hundreds of domestic and international employees. Yep, he is the guy also on this profile page.

​

For me to be successful at what I do, I spend more time learning about my clients culture, the position and the manager, than most. That coupled with my unique interview process, enables me to identify people who are more likely to be a good fit and engaged from the start. They are technically strong, with an even stronger values and culture fit. As a result, they provide a needed additional dimension - they are engagement advocates.

​

I simply spend more time learning and communicating with everyone involved because I care about people, and I want them to be successful for themselves and the business. I like getting people excited about the things I’m excited about. This approach has made it possible for me to recruit talent in almost any industry, even though my work experience before recruiting was in education, fitness, retail and medical sales.​

​

When I'm not working, swimming, running, or biking; you'll find me reading or binge watching my favorite movies and TV shows. That's how I recharge for the next big challenge. Hopefully, it will be with your company.
